How Kim Kardashian and Allison Statter's Childhood Friendship Inspired Their Makeup Collection

"I always remember Allison and I getting ready for prom," Kardashian West reminisces over the phone with Allure. KKW would be prepared with every single eye shadow shade and finish imaginable. "I would use any and all of Kim's eye shadows," Statter adds. "Kim used to match her makeup to whatever she was wearing." 

Statter, on the other hand, was all about perfecting her brows, and a clear lip gloss was a staple in her makeup bag. Now, it's a part of the KKW x Allison collection in a much less sticky and more nourishing formula than her high-school favorite. 

Its packaging, as well as that for the rest of the products, give a peek at that time of the ladies' lives. Based on the collages and photo albums they'd make together growing up, they covered the collection with throwback pictures. Kardashian West mentions picking out which images to use was one of her favorite parts of working on the collab with Statter. They even had baby photos together to sort through, but Kardashian West says they decided to show mostly their favorite ones from high school and college. 

The Face Palette, which has shade names like Here For You, Secrets, and Cherish, is another ode to a Statter staple. She says she's "particularly excited" about the addition to the collection because she's always had something similar in her makeup bag. The compact features a highlighter-blush-bronzer trio. Statter points out the bronzer doubles as a contouring shade, too.
